FFF President Le Graet claims Karim Benzema had the best season of his career
French Football Federation (FFF) president Noel Le Graet claims that Real Madrid’s forward Karim Benzema had a fabulous season and lauds him for his effort and efficiency.
Benzema played a major role on team’s success this season as he scored 26 goals in 47 games to aid Madrid to prevail over their eternal enemy Barcelona and win LaLiga for the second time during the last five years. Last time they won the domestic championship was back in 2016–17 season with Benzema finding the net 18 times (52/100 shots on target and 8 assists). Furthermore, let’s not forget that Real Madrid had advanced to the last 16 of the Champions League before the suspension and in the first leg they encountered Manchester City at home and lost 1–2. In two weeks and particularly on August 7, the Champions League will resume and Real Madrid will have to overcome against City and advance to the next round.
Although this season seems to be arguably the best one for the French forward, the last time he played for France was back in 2015 and Le Graet declared last November that he had played his last game for the national team. So a couple of years later, Le Graet had only commendable words to employ when talking for the 32-years old’s performances this season.
“He’s had an exceptional season with Real,” he told RMC Sport on Thursday. “I have already congratulated (Real Madrid’s coach) Zinedine Zidane who is his coach. He is one of the best players today, over the season he has just completed.”
“The best? It’s not up to me to judge because I haven’t seen all the games, but in my opinion he had the best season of his career,” he stated.
