Gordon Hayward “wants out” of Boston?
Gordon Hayward signed a four-year, $128 million contract with the Boston Celtics in 2017. He is about to enter the final season of that agreement, for which he has a player option. Despite being owed roughly $34 million if he opts in, sources allude to the fact that Hayward is intrigued by the possibility of jumping to another team if there is an interesting offer. During an appearance on The Bill Simmons podcast, Ryen Russillo reported that Hayward “does want out” of his contract for the 2020-21 season.
Right now the only team that has expressed interest in trading for him is the Indiana Pacers.
However, it’s imminent that as we are heading to free agency, more teams will line up for the 30-year old forward.
Last season he played in 52 games and averaged 17.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.1 assists per game. He also finished the season shooting 50% from the field, 38.3% from the perimeter and 85.5% from the free-throw line.
