Is James Harden going to leave Houston soon?
After the departure of coach Mike D'Antoni and with Daryl Morey ensuing later, Rockets were forced this fill these positions with people who have experience and their superstars Russell Westbrook and James Harden would like to work with. During this process, Harden had some names in mind on who could replace Mike D’Antoni as the head coach of the team.
According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, Harden endorsed Tyronn Lue and John Lucas as the next head coach of the Rockets.
Tyronn Lue signed a five-year contract with the Los Angeles Clippers and John Lucas wasn't the direction that the team took.
The Rockets named as their next head coach, Stephen Silas. Silas served as an assistant coach under Rick Carlisle on the Dallas Mavericks from 2018-2020. He also had previous assistant jobs in the NBA under his father, Paul Silas.
After the decision became public, some pundits speculated that due to the fact that Harden didn't get what he wanted as the team picked a different coach to sign, it is believed that he will leave from the organisation before his contract expires.
