During their second preseason game, the Oklahoma City Thunder faced the New Zealand Breakers. One of their players was RJ Hampton, a 18 years old guy who dodged and erased any possibility of him going to college and emboldened and full with confidence decided to go overseas and play basketball in Australia. During the game against the Thunder, a lot of scouts were there just to see him play. It was an opportunity for him to show how good he is, because don’t forget that during the next NBA Draft, if he is very efficient then it’s not controversial the fact that he will be one of the forerunners for the first overall pick in the event.

Thunder stars Steven Adams and Chris Paul shared their thoughts about Hampton’s game:

“He did a good job running their stuff,” Adams said of Hampton. “For a very young boy, being able to run that type of offense — there’s some offenses that are easy to run, just pick-and-roll, but then there’s a whole bunch of other actions.”

“R.J. looks good, man,” future Hall of Famer Chris Paul said after the game on Thursday. “He’s very talented, and I see why all the scouts and GMs came to see him play.”

R.J. Hampton said he didn’t think about the number of NBA scouts at Chesapeake Energy Arena Thursday. But several Thunder players noticed. “There were a lot of NBA scouts there,” Thunder center Steven Adams said. “A lot. I seen them all before the game.”
